Epic mate! Nice looking jack! My uncle used to have one of these when I was a little kid. Kept fighting with his sooty grunter. They really are a beautiful fish. One of the most aggressive for sure. My uncles one bashed the crap out of his 2+ft Jardinii.

Thanks mate! I had wanted 1 for years.
Always just had American cichlids and the like before.
About time 1 got an Aussie native considering I live here haha.

These are the most current photos of him now.
About 5 to 5.5 inch’s at a guess.
Going great, eats plenty and always active, swimming laps of the tank.
Starting to show a bit of attitude too, he will shake his head at the glass occasionally when my toddler puts her face real close to it haha.

.....a shop here used to bring them in and they used to label them as red funned datnoids,just imagine if dats were as aggressive as Mangrove Jacks!

“Terry” is still going good, probably 6 inch’s or more.
Loving his food, and seems to enjoy us interacting with him at the glass.
Attacks the siphon when doing water changes now which is a good chuckle. Too small at the moment to really give it a good hit but still funny. My old 14” Oscar used to use the siphon as a chew toy haha.

Another few weeks gone by. Still growing along nicely, not heaps fast but fast enough.
Maybe 6.5 inch’s, probably not 7.
Loving any sort of raw seafood. Prawns, squid, fish fillet pieces, mussels etc. And gets earth worms every couple of days also.
Nothing too much to write about really.

He is still going strong, and growing at a steady rate.
A good 7” plus now at a guess. Heaps thicker, and still not too aggressive or anything yet.

Started to get a few quotes for the 8x4 that I will be getting built for him. Hopefully have that all set up etc in about 3 - 4 months.

Nothing too much to report about really.

what are the quotes like you got? I’m also getting a8x4 at 24’’ tall, the best so far is from fish tank direct at about$3500.
