Very interesting...I wonder if hooking this up to the output of a canister filter would work, and then having it 'waterfall' back into the tank.

I see some impressive results but am also horified to see open wiring so close to water in a couple of installations. The inventive spirit is a wonderful thing but we need to practice electrical safety at all times.

These lamps should be be ground fault protected and also arc fault protected. Aquarium lighting is a seriuos cause of electrical contact injury and also residential fires. Take the necessary care needed to protect your own life and property and the health and safety of your loved ones ...PLEASE!
