Metal monster 3k

Glad to hear you are fully enjoying the drip system, if anyone needed such a setup its that crazy guy with far too many tanks in his basement. lol, The 500 looks great, that amount of rock looks like nothing in there but im sure it will setup and run good for you fast. I have learned that like freshwater when you take some good old rock plus old water and even substrate and put it all in a new tank it can cycle very fast, my little bio cube seemed like it cycled fully in a week. And building the stand for a very small tank is super easy and sweet. I feel like you, having more mouths to feed is not always a great thing, specially when they it might be something you really do not want or need, especially if they are in a little rough shape. Thanks for the update and the overall info on everything.

Looking good man, nice rescue! May as what type of bass those are? I want some basses too, and yours seem to have the coloration i would want:)

Thanks for the compliment my friend :)... i have 2 "run of the mill" bass so u should b able to find some fairly eaisly and cheap. My personal favorite is the occelaris (bass with more black on him and lime green) and the more yellow one (less coloration) is a monoculous. Both ive had since 2". The ocell is my fav. Species of bass for coloration even against all the kels, azuls and tems.

How on earth are you going to heat that monster?...That alone would send me to the poorhouse.

....please forgive me if it was already covered in a previous post.

Honestly im not going to heat it. I dont heat 90% of my tanks. Good lids and other equipment have always been enough for me. My current 1700 12' intex pool is also unheated and open top with no problems. My yearly tank temps are between 70-78 round the house. I have more trouble keeping tanks cool in the summer rather than keeping them warm in winter.

Since this thread was resurrected, i guess ill give an update lol....got some exellent news today from the inlaws. They tore down their 3yr old pool and are leaving me with its reminents. Just what i needed, a 25' pool :) muhuhaha. I wish i had the space inside for it but its just too big. Comes with a very new sand filter and pump ill def. Be using for the 3k. Super stoked for this as it should be a classy addition to all my ghetto homemade filters lol. Pretty positive ill be using the stainles steel pool surround to line the inside walls of my tank so this cuts out the cost of wood all together. I may even use the pool liner underneath my 45mil epdm as an additional seal in case of a leak. Pics to come when i pick everything up.

I keep waiting for more but dont want to seem pushy. Its better for me to watch you spend money and do crazy stuff instead of myself. I just dont understand how you live with the power bill. Adding 200-300 watts to me is huge and your already running thousands of watts.
