Metal monster 3k

So the 4 holes in the bottom of the top drum are just to make sure you get enough flow into the bottom drum?
And you got nothing in the bottom drum?

Nice straight forward filter like that

Yup, the 4 holes in the top barrel are just to make sure the water flows straight through and nothing "fills up" in there. I used what I had on hand and that's why theres different sized holes. I probably didn't need 3 holes in the bottom drum either but I wanted to account for adding a larger pump to run the filter without it overflowing. My large cats can be very dirty eating pounds of pellet food a day so I needed something very simple to tear down and clean. Matienence wise this filter is 100% easier to clean and holds about 10 times as much media as I had before in just 2 small Rubbermaid containers. Only been running for a day now but I can tell its gonna work well.

forgot to say yes theres nothing in the bottom drum, Its just a setteling chamber. I may add some filter socks down there but I'm going to see how much "junk" I can accumliate just with setteling.

Time, Money & Tools..
That's all I need to catch up to you LOL

Your other projects hijack your time on the 3k as well as the thread..

Now I'm watching

Wow - lots of different projects on the go since I last looked! Keep up the good work!

nice work any updates on anything. also if you want to let some of the larger fw fish go im not to far from you

Thanks for all the ressurections of this thread everyone! Always gives me that extra push to keep chuggin along. Ive finally been tying together a couple odds and ends. Movin out some small tanks and making all my matience easier. Life on the auto drip is amazing and i finally have time to actually clean filters, tinker with set up improvements and also upgrade alot of fish around the house. Picked up a 25' pool for free with hayward filter so ill be using the metal pool sides for my tank and also the sand filter filled with glass beads. Seems like ive done nothing by looks lol but the quality of life round the house is finally on point and up to my standards. I continue to tear down anything under 100gal so my other setups get more equipment to play with as i get rid of more "junk". Heres some pics of my whole fishroom to keep u guys interested and let u know what im up to on a daily basis other than not finishing my new tank hah...enjoy
