Only used 3.5 tubes of 3m5200 lol...even a bit much for my tastes but thats how i like it :) . Itell help me sleep better at night down the road. Went in pretty smooth across the board, had one air bubble in the top middle so i cracked a 4th tube just to shoot a bit more inbetween the window to eliminate it. I should have put more on the top liner part thats left empty in the pics. I think i may still prefer Gold Label Sealer/silicone but this new stuff was easier to work with, cleaned up quicker and is the consistency of honey but it doesnt run or sagg much which i liked. It is also workable for far longer than the Gold Label so you have plenty of time to clean everything up and smooth/trowel it out nice. Seemed to go a long way for 3 tubes and the price is far better than gold label. I feel better about using 3m5200 on the 3k now.

Thanks for posting pics of how it is done. Finally a nice set of pics that show the progression of it for everyone to see.

Thanks for caring lol, hope my work helps you finish ur tank that much quicker now :) ....my appologies for what little documentation i do leave behind, hard to account for everything that actually goes on when im always working alone. I thought about a time lapse camera i can put up in the corner to catch more of the action when im workin on the 3k. Not very tech savy but itd be cool to have good evidence of my projects like that...ill have to come up with something hands free i can use.

Holding tank looking good, how long before we start to see more progress on the actual 3k metal monster the thread is about. Don't get me wrong, all the side projects with details are great, but we all want to see the big tank finished!

I'm glad you posted the sealant pics. I wasn't aware so much was required ... Like you said. Tho better safe than sorry

Im sure i could have used a tad less but again this is just my taste and personal preference. The key thing to note is that the window is actually sealed 3 times. Once in between the acrylic and liner, second on the inside glass to liner and a third time on the outside glass to liner so escentially it has to fail 3 times for water to breach the window.

Great choice for silicone. I was just reading up about it at the 3M webpage. That stuff gives you a 4 hour work time, whereas most silicone's only give you 8 - 20 minutes. It's non-sagging and can be troweled. Can be used for almost any application, such as bonding , sealing, or making gaskets for wood, glass, fiberglass, or metal. Tack free in 48 hours. Cures in 7-14 days. 700 psi tensile strength. 1350% elongation before break. Is sandable when cured.

I plan to use it for my current build. My local Lowes has it in stock for $11.98 per 10oz cartridge.

Thanks for this great thread, all the information you've provided, all the pictures, and updates.
