Only used 3.5 tubes of 3m5200 lol...even a bit much for my tastes but thats how i like it. Itell help me sleep better at night down the road. Went in pretty smooth across the board, had one air bubble in the top middle so i cracked a 4th tube just to shoot a bit more inbetween the window to eliminate it. I should have put more on the top liner part thats left empty in the pics. I think i may still prefer Gold Label Sealer/silicone but this new stuff was easier to work with, cleaned up quicker and is the consistency of honey but it doesnt run or sagg much which i liked. It is also workable for far longer than the Gold Label so you have plenty of time to clean everything up and smooth/trowel it out nice. Seemed to go a long way for 3 tubes and the price is far better than gold label. I feel better about using 3m5200 on the 3k now.

holy smokes that's a lot of silicone. i have to agree though, better safe than sorry.
That looks very nice. How did you get the corners so nice? I used a 15'x20' in a 8'x4'x4' tank and couldnt get the corners nice at all. All said and done the tank blew apart after an hour of being full. 1k gallons made a hell of a noise in the basement. Could hear the wood crack and make noise then a loud whoosh as 1000 gallons broke free... for the rebuild i probably wont go 4' tall cause the liner bunches up big time.
Im quite surprised to hear it says u need a vapor mask....compared to the 2 part epoxy i use for acrylic on a regular basis and regular silicone, 3m5200 has no smell at all. I even mentioned to my girlfriend how nice it was to work without a mask for a change and not get a headache from breathing toxins. Great to use indoors without ventilation imo. It does shrink a bit which i dont like, im not sure if ill use it again on my 3k build. Gold Label aquarium and pond sealer is a far better product, after using 3m5200 i may be able to justify paying more for the Gold Label this next build lol...im still on the fence about 5200, couple weeks and ill have a better opinion.

Have you checked to see if a lowes could special order you the gold label aquarium sealer. I know you mentioned you were going to ask the manufacturer if you could buy direct but I didn't see anything about it after that

Covered another 2' to hold the lights up using liner wrapped 2x4's and some scrap lexan i picked up today for $11. Last part to enclose is the fish/man door lol...havent found what im looking for yet locally so the search continues...

I aquired my last 12 tubes of gold label sealer from a local pond shop. They even had to special order it. I imagine ill just do the same if/when i could pay for the 24 tubes i need. Theres debate of comparable adhesives used for roofing/construction but ive yet to find one. Its not that hard to get a tube, or a one shot kit of gold label but id like a case...or 2 lol...i tried ordering a couple different places online that never came through, always out of stock or back ordered.

Back in black....5 days of curing, 9 to go. Still need one last lid piece. Plenty of time to reconfigure my filtration before shes ready.

I've used 5200 many times- it's standard toolkit for boat maintenance. A pond is just a backwards boat... maybe.
Messier than silicone but better wearing and seems tougher.
