What did you guys think of the Michael Page fight? I have been watching him come up for a while, and I personally enjoy his over-the-top showboating.

this guy is gonna make a lot of noise really soon as long as he keeps winning and doing it in spectacular fashion. I think he's awesome. love the showboating. I think as long as you have the skills to back it up, he can showboat all he wants.

he looks like he's in great shape. he's got very unorthodox footwork/style. his punches are not only strong but I think because of his style and the way he moves, the opponent doesn't see it coming.

they seriously need to step up his competition. would love to see this guy one day sign with the ufc or get on the ultimate fighter at least

I haven't seen him in action yet so I can't say too much about him but the only showboating I enjoy is someone throwing punches in bunches...

you're either gonna love him or hate him. either way, you're gonna watch. if you love him you'll be entertained. if you hate him you're gonna love it if he ever gets knocked the eff out for his showboating

I have no idea why they used this music

Thanks for the link Sumo, gotta admit I liked what I saw there...especially the part where he was knocked backward on his butt and when his opponent moved in to attack Page caught him and worked him into a leg choke...The ref looked to be panicking trying to get the guy free lol.

Love his connections, hate the showboating. Agree they need better competition for him, that spin junk shouldn't be landing that much.

The thing is that he's been throwing the spinning techniques for over a decade. They are a regular part of his arsenal. He has like 10 world championships in kickboxing. He may not be able to get away with it against good wrestlers who can time him with their takedowns, but any strikers who give him a bit of distance will have a hard time dealing with his style.

Good strikers should be the ones it doesn't work on. Granted I was never on his level, but we were taught to step into any spin move since you see them coming. It's like kicking above your waist (which our teacher would sweep us for ever doing while sparing), it usually only works when they are already dazed. A step back or in defeated those spin moves (not just saying this about my very inferior level, watched my Master do it on his level too).

Though I will admit it takes a lot of training to step into something like that, since it is a counter to your natural reaction. Probably why he drilled us on it so much. (In the video, you saw him step into a huge overhand thrown by his opponent, and the short jab + opponents momentum was all it took to drop the guy.)

So Bottles how do you think Page would have fared in that Muay Thai vs Kickboxer clip you posted?
