I believe you all are expressing your opinions on here, sorry I chimed in with mine. Clearly mine is not valid. I believe the only way to solve this is if me and you have a bar fight. That way you won't have to observe at a distance, you can be right up in the action.

Bring it son. Fans of fighting only allowed to watch. UFC snobs can wait outside to see you rolled away in a stretcher. Lol

lmao, I'd not only watch, i'd probably ref

Broc, it's ok to state your opinion. feel free any time. no one said it was invalid. we just didn't agree with some things

Besides I'm a casual fan, you clearly are way too into the sport. I understand tho. I love football. I'll watch anything football related. As others would only watch football if it's the super bowl. I will buy PPV when it's names worth seeing. Usually get left feeling ripped off but I still do it lol. You watch it regardless cause you love it.

What did you guys think of the Michael Page fight? I have been watching him come up for a while, and I personally enjoy his over-the-top showboating.

http://mmajunkie.com/2014/05/dont-like-michael-pages-showmanship-at-bellator-120-get-used-to-it

Page (6-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) ducked and dodged and waved his hands and wound up for punches and dance and gyrated his way to a gorgeous one-punch knockout of Ricky Rainey (8-3 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) to open Bellator 120 on Saturday, the promotion’s first pay-per-view. The showmanship didn’t go over well with the fans at Landers Center, though.

But Page said he won’t be changing any time soon.

“It’s called showboating,” the Brit said at the post-event news conference. “I intend to put on a show. The reason I’m here and I’m able to be at this table is because I fight the way I fight. To be honest, if I was fighting exactly the same as everyone else, I don’t know if I’d be here right now. It’s not me trying to be disrespectful.”

I haven't watched that one yet but I hate showboaters (Anderson Silva). Celebrating after you win is another thing. I even thought it was funny when Aoki flipped off Hirota. But one of the things I liked most about Fedor was how he got in there did his job and left with total humility and he was the best fighter in the world so I had the utmost respect for him. At least Mayhem Miller was funny when he did a little showboating.

Ya, I'm a huge Fedor fan too. I appreciate the stoic fighters like Fedor, but I also enjoy the guys who are a bit over the top. Guys like Ali, Silva, Genki Sudo, etc. are just as much entertainers as they are fighters. However, I think that the antics should stop after the fight, and I didn't like the Aoki incident. The showboating is to make the opponent feel inferior and lose confidence, but after the fight it is unnecessary.

I don't even know who Askren is fighting, but I'm sure he'll win. He's a top 10 guy who will be lucky to get a top 20 opponent.

I figured you were a casual fan. That's why I didn't take what you said too seriously. What I don't get is, if you know you're a casual fan, how can you make such statements knowing you probably don't know everything about the mma world?

you can't stand showboating,........... but you're ok with aoki flipping off a guy whom's arm he just broke?

you got some morals mixed up bro.

I don't care if a fighter showboats. it's part of a mental game, they use showboating as a strategy to get into their opponent's head. frustrate them, make them take chances, make mistakes and you take advantage.

now what aoki did, and I've been a fan of his for a while, was as bad as sucker punching after the bell as far as being unsportsman-like, imo. you break a guys arm, he's laying there in excruciating pain and you jump around like a monkey, stick your tongue at him and flip him off? that was a pos move on aoki's part, I was disgusted by it and I think the sport has no room for it. no one will take mma serious if fighters do that kind of ****. but I know you've been a long time Anderson hater so you're a little cynical when it comes to him
