The card tonight looks pretty good. Barao vs Dillashaw really doesn't interest me that much. If Dillashaw lasts 3 rounds, I'll be impressed.
Hendo vs Cormier and Lawler vs Ellenberger should both be great fights. Hendo weighed in at 199lbs. I'm not sure if he was trying to weigh in light to get a speed advantage, or if the lack of TRT is effecting his ability to retain his muscle.
 
I caught ufc insider when they had cormier and hendo on. At the end they do their "Fighting words" segment. Instead of talking crap, they showed nothing but respect for each other. Cormier was asked if hendo landed his right hand flush if he thought it would put him to sleep and he responded saying if he caught a elephant flush it would be lights out for dumbo.

That being said I'm picking bareo, cormier and Lawler
 
I'm always excited to see barao fight. the guy is a scary, scary dude. dangerous on the ground and standing. I became a bigger fan when I saw that he is still hand washing his own clothes in the bath tub. after all the money he still seems to have his feet planted. but I love barao for the same reasons I love Korean zombie. everything they do has the intent to finish. they are always setting up to go for the kill. I have not seen either guy cruise when they are ahead in a fight.

my picks are also barao, dc and lawler

although I like Ellenberger also, I am slightly rooting for lawler for sentimental reasons. love his recent resurgence in his career.

your thinking is flawed bro. there have been showboating in combat sports, let alone any sport, since dinosaurs roamed the earth. you can say it's a tactic that you don't care to see, but it's pretty silly to say that there should only be one way to fight (and that is without showboating). almost as silly as saying Anderson silva will only be remembered for getting knocked out. yea, ok,......he'll be remembered by the matrix stuff he pulled in his fights that you only see in movies. of course haters like you guys will remember the ko and use it every chance you get because there's not much else you can use to bash the guy. he's been kicking ass with his hands down for years, probably made your favorite fighters look silly at some point. so have at it

i'm the kind of fan who can appreciate someone's talents regardless of whether I hate the guy or not. i'm also the kind of person who can have discussions without the immature grade school insults. but again, have at it if it makes you feel better. i'm sure it will continue to help you think it helps your stance in debates



just so you know, i'm not taking anything you said seriously or personally. i'm just seeing a double standard and calling it like I see it, that's all. if Anderson's showboating is disrespectful to you, then you should hate aoki for being disrespectful.

Let me ask you a question. If you had a son or daughter in MMA, would you teach them to keep their hands down and clown around in the ring? I'll answer that for you because you're probably going to say yes because you don't want to look like an idiot. The answer is NO! Because A- it's disrespectful and B- sooner than later your going to get hurt. It's just not the way you fight.

Grabbing at straws already? If my son spent YEARS as a UFC champ making people look like clowns with his hard work, dedication and natural talents all while having his hands at his side I would be extremely dissapointed and give him a firm spank on the backside. And if his age finally caught up to him and he got KO'd doing what he had been doing for 10+ years I would be the 1st to say I told you so. Were you one of those guys that picked the other fighter every time silva fought? How long was it before you were right? You can hate his style all you want but his talent is undeniable.

My take, learn to fight first, add your personal style later. Of course you dont teach a kid that right off the bat. You ALWAYS start with the fundamentals first and then tweak things later.
