Sometimes the fish get themselves straightened out without human intervention. Now that Buddy has made his own little cove he's more aggressive. Today he took on Hulk, making his huge brother back off. A first! You see him here poking his head out. There's a log along the back wall he's claimed from his other monster brother, Tank. Buddy not taking no stuff!!

Current shot of Dusty in the 125. Built like a Midas, he's around 5 1/2"+. Originally had red fins and a slate blue body, he now sports a red tint over stripes. One of Pip and Mongo's oldest sons, Dusty is one of a kind with this coloration. The red body color fades or gets darker based on mood. Pip has over 600 descendants and he's the only one like this. Genetic combinations can definitely form unique traits in single individuals. Dusty is aggressive and one of two sons that can make Mongo back down consistently (monstrous Stripey is the other). Considering Mongo's ultra-aggression that's saying a lot.

Updated graphic charts showing hrp family sizes. This only represents length, not bulk...some of the entries are still growing (especially after the G2 generation). Due to outcrossing with two related males there is a split generation, G2/3. No 4th Gen fry are named yet and are too young for this chart.

It's easy because of when the various fry appear and how they were separated to control the population. There is a correction: Brutus is also a split generation fish, G2/3.

Right now I have Mica's babies in a tub (G4) and fry from Blackbeard AND Brutus (G4). The fry from Brutus are bigger and older. In the 125 there are the three pink (G4) fry out of Harlequin, her only surviving babies. I have named one of them Deuce, who has a red cheek circle. There are a few random leftover fry from Mongo/Blaze not named. Mongo and Bianca have (G4) wigglers right now.

Renegade Baby in Lazarus' tank is out of Blaze (G3). Speaking of the miracle fish I rarely see him...he appears to be around 4 inches or more. For those of you who don't know Lazarus survived in an unused tank for over 6 months in half an inch of water and no food. His body went into survival mode and he was only about an inch even though he's the same generation as the giants! (G2). One day I'll catch and measure him for an upddate.
