Something to think about might be to add a mesh screen to prevent other bugs and flies from getting into the worm box.

I raise vinegar eels and my biggest mistake was not covering the opening while still allowing air through. Ruined and contaminated my entire collection.i now use paper towels to cover the cup openings and the lids have holes in them.

Good point. I think I have some metal mesh I can use. Bin will probably stay either in the basement or garage.

It's happy time in Goon City...

Here's Pepper, my smallest cichlid at around 3.5~4 inches and straight up thug. He intimidates both synodontis catfish, pops them in the head, starts fights with the acara Felix, and swims with Brick unafraid. A glass biter, he can swim the 6ft span in 2 seconds flat.

Thugs in crime, Felix and Pepper. They often square off. Felix nips at Bobo's tail at times and steals food from Boss. Felix made the mistake of nipping Brick's tail one time. He hasn't repeated that mistake since seeing the Maw.
