My Amphilophus Sagittae journal

Man oh man you got a troublemaker on you hands haha. Hes looks great btw!

I like the plants in the tank, they add a bit of greenery. I had added some fakes to my setup as well to see if I could get away with real ones later on and so far what I've noticed is that they like to rip or move anything that is in the way of their line of sight accross the tank. Which makes sense in a way as they're probably shooting for a better view to stalk prey or defend.

That said, I noticed mine does not care at all for anything floating. I actually started introducing some dwarf lettuce and watersprite in my setup and is still intact after a few weeks.

My earthmover / devil doesn't wait. He'll start excavation while the tank is refilling. So will the red Texas. They are incorrigible.

Diggers gonna dig. :D

So trying a different rock setup so see where he would dig. 20190626_125929.jpg
He started freaking out about how close the right rock was to the back wall, so I moved all three rocks out of the way. Boy did he ever go to town.

75%or better every third day water changes pays off big time. Water that looks like air, also very active outgoing insane fish...... lol

I have to net him up to clean his tank or he will attack like a starving shark. Not out of the tank, open side of the net against the glass, him pouting in the net. I'll grap a pic next water change.
