My Amphilophus Sagittae journal

Hey @Jexnell ,
I can't wait to see the Carpintis and the Lyonsi. I have kept Carpintis before and plan on it again. They are a beautiful cichlid. The colors on Kevins Lyonsi are amazing. Good luck on this mission.

When I got Casper, I also got a group of Carpinitis.

I named it Thor, but looking back now some years later looks female. But it's the one that got the biggest of all. Same fish on black sand.

Really excited for both Lyonsi and Carpintis. Tho not looking so good on the new tank side. Petsmart has removed the Aqueon 6ft 125gal from their website, so has Aqueon itself.
Kevin at TUIC said Lyonsi will be in mid month so will be getting them for the oak 125 I have.

My apartment owner said he was going to redo my kitchen and living room areas(my apartment was built in 68) so I shut all my tanks save one for Casper down, gave away all the fish. A few months later he said he wouldn't be able to do the remodel on mine as a different unit ran way over budget. So I set up a 125gal and ordered some more Carpinitis this time bigger and from COTA. 20190220_104942.jpg20190220_104914.jpg
Only ordered one of each, he killed her sadly.

Then he turned into super chicken and would never come out of his hide so gave it to The Wet Spot.

So if I can find a tank, will be try number 3 for Carpintis.

More back on topic

It's been about a month now or so without me having to net Casper to clean the tank. He hangs out in the other end that I am working in. These 125s have three 2ft sections as far as the lids go. So after I clean one end and the middle section he calmly swims over to the now clean end so I can clean the last dirty section.
Well we are into May now and he has continued with the non aggression while I clean the tank. Actually it's more like he doesn't bother me so long as the gravel vac is in the tank. If I am just scrubbing algea he seems to think my arm is to-go food, so have to keep the gravel vac between him and my arm....
