My inexpensive drip system

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
O yea, no sump for mine, couldn't figure a good way to have a sump that could handle the over-flow in the case of power loss.

what filtration do you use? I didnt drill the tank....I would fear the same on a big plywood beast lol.

K rallys... My question is now it's been up for a while.. How much did your water bill raise???? :)

Actually, I think it's less. (hard to tell because I have set up so many more tanks) I'm only dripping 24 gpd which is less than what I was doing in water changes. Once you get the levels low you can use the drip system to maintain them rather than try decrease them. It keeps it very stable. Every time I've checked nitrates have been around 15ppm.:)

Every time I see this thread, I can't wait to get my own place. My water is Wurm regulated currently.

I think i may do this for my 300 gallon tank But my only problem is my tank is in the living room and is about 20 feet from my garage that has a little closet id like to set this all up in.

It's worth the work, trust me lol.

The thing i am wondering is if the water that drains out of the tank has to be done at an angle so that it drains with gravity. Can i just run it up threw the ceiling or should i run it underneath my house and make a small decline so it just drains by itself into my garage which is about 2-3 feet lower than the rest of my house.

You can do it with a sump pump style setup so you dont have to worry about gravity.
