With a pump in your sump controlled by a float switch. Once the water gets high enough in the sump the float rises up and turns on, water pumps down to the level you want and shuts off. The trickiest part will be getting the float to turn on and off exactly where you want it, but its still pretty simple.

Ok i get it now. Its kinda like a float in a toilet. Maybe I can get one from home depot and rig it into my sump since those seem to work well.

hey levi,

got a yard, garden, anything that has to do with plants???

irrigate it to something :grinyes: :D
very..., very..., very environmentally conscious comment....., then you dont have to feel bad about useing so much potable water....., the fish keeping hobby is a stress on the ground water and city drinking water levels....
xeriscaping is definetly a nice, responsible, rewarding way to landscape....

I'm not sure if it was mentioned in this thread but this drip system uses less water than conventional water changes. I capture some of the run off once in a while, but usually it's cold here and I can't do much lol.

Yah..., I happened to read that to...., a drip system is defiently a more efficient, easy, and rewarding way to keep your aquarium fish healthy and to also be environmental conscious..... about water usage and if you happen to use the waste water for watering plants within your landscape then even better.....,

The only reason that I commented on this is because I am very familiar with "grey water" usage...., I am a Landscape Architect...., and our junior design build class constructed a grey water exhibit at the philadelphia flower show..., the biggest in the country....., anyone who is familiar with this would know that it is a very big audience where you can teach the public about things like how to reuse water for things like watering your landscape plants or for even flushing your toilets.... people form the southwest know what i am talking about.....
