So limping along on one pump. The felt has cleared up the water very well, but now I thing I am down to the super fine stuff.

I did another 100% water change a couple days ago, so now I am gonna set up a sediment whole house filter of 5 micron.

I will get this cleared up, and have learned a valuable lesson, wash sand a little at a time, not the whole 100#s at once. That was a stupid move.

Well clearing up. Gonna set it up again and then start the cycle on sunday. Will use 50 micron polishing pad in the filter for extra clear water.

Once again I want to thank everyone for the help. Pics next week.

Had an idea to get the rest of the clay out of the sand. Gonna build a modified gravel vac. Hard to explain my wild raving thoughts so will post pics tomorrow.

It is amasing how stubborn the last bit is being.

Cycling finally... Fish pics next week!
Gotta say that the felt sock idea was a great one!

Before with circulation running;

After with circulation running;

Went through 14 felt socks.

BTW I had some crazy ideas in the beginning...

1000th post... Wish it were a fish pic, but alas no.

Thought this up today while finishing the filter. Heater rack for inside the sump.

Tees on the ends are to allow water to fill the frame and keep it from floating.

Not extremely exciting for my 1000th post, but better than nothing
