New project, will take a long time

It not as fun if you get to see it finished the first time you read the thread. That what this site is all about. Everything that we put into the hobby, including the incredibly detailed and long-run projects. Enjoy....this is the fun stuff.
I couldn't agree more, if everything was a one hit and finished thread there would be less to read for one but the journey is the important thing for me, sharing the ups and downs, good and bad days etc etc. I try to write this as if I was thinking of doing it myself and wanted a good resource.

Plus when it all goes wrong people will know how not to do it:ROFL:

I remember reading John's 5000-10000 conversion thread when I first joined and it must have been great to be here while that was going on, thousands of MFKers glued to the web cam 24/7 waiting for Sam to swim through:D

Good morning!...
3:30 in the AM here, coffee is on, I'm waiting for it, so what do I do?
Why come and check on the pond, of course. :D :D :D

Well, here it's nearly 3:30 PM and doing my daily round too :)

I just got up for a nature call, but I'm normally up by 4:30-5:00 every morning. There's nothing like being up to greet the day as it unfolds...
First light of the day, then all the sounds and smells. Fresh Coffee, active fish. Best part of the day! :D :D :D

Since I started working back shifts I rarely see a morning;)

There has been a change of plan, vortex two is going to both bio and mechanical, this is to save time and get the thing filled, vortex three will therefore be the return. Once everything is set up the I'll release the kaldnes in vortex two and it will then run through to three after the proper return is set up, if that makes sense. I was always going to keep added more and more media over the next few months anyway as the fish stock rise.

This way I can get it filled and flagged quickly and let the cats out, there are so many of them when they are all locked up in the house:nilly:

Another delivery, all the japenese matting(for now) and I don't think I've ordered anything else:):
