Thanks, You've not missed anything, weathers been rubbish and I've been working most days for a while so nothing much has happened. I've finally got a few days off and having been feeling rough so I've been sitting back and recuperating, skimmer should be here tomorrow, I've not netted the leaves out today on purpose to see how well it works then I'll order the UV and get the return sorted out. I've only really missed 1/2 a possible working day and that was Saturday, hopefully I can get all the flags down and the above done in the next week or so and then just net it and leave everything running until spring. Anything else is unrealistic with the weather and the season.

Start off next year and do the deck over the filters and see how everything is running with the fish in and take it from there.

Bump for Zen;)

I'm here, lurking for the updates...
I think that skimmer ought to do some good...I know I am tired of skimming the leaves out of this one here...;)

If it's any good it was about £80 all in, if it's worth it in shipping I'll send one out, but in my experience when peeps say I'll ship it etc. the pond becomes an ocean :irked:

Skimmer arrived on cue. I've ran it since about lunch time and have mixed feelings about it. It does what it says on the tin so to speak, and is excellent at removing small particles etc. although it does collect leaves I wouldn't say it's great at it. Having said that the pond does work against it, in the fact as the air dome forces the water out from the middle it only really skims the one side where it sits, I'm going to knock the air off tomorrow and see if it runs any better.

By the time I actually felt like doing anything we thought it was best to lay out the all the flags to see hope everything fits together knowing the pattern was never going to match the patio area but with careful placement it was possible to make it look like it was planned this way. After a few hours of discussions(arguments) we settled on something like this:

By the time we'd sorted it out it was starting to go dark so fingers crossed the weather will be alright tomorrow and I can get some down.

What does everyone think about the lay out?

Is it supposed to move about?
Yeah, it's not fixed in.

Do you think I've pulled off the patio was supposed to look that way to begin with?
