The valve is open, after 20 minutes this was all the water that appeared outside the pipes, sorry it's a little out of focus I was upside down in a hole taking it:
More magic putty was mixed up and the leak sealed. Another leak from the tank connector at the base of vortex one was also redone. I honestly think that they are never going to be perfectly water tight but I can live with it, it may seal, time will tell
Welded the cap on for the air dome connector and tested it

Six circles of matting were cut, very very slowly as this stuff is a real pain to cut, and fitted into vortex 2, off cuts were placed between each layer:
A little bit of bracing to do and the temp return and pump needs sorting out then it's just the big wait until the water fills the pond enough and the level rises toward vortex one's outlet and we'll see what leaks next

Yup I think I permanently ruin my shop shears on the stuff..it is some tough stuff to cut...Lookin good so far
As predicted, the tank connectors still leak. So to solve this, the vortexes have been emptied and sealed with the magic putty on the inside as well. There is only one way to do this and that is by climbing upside down into the things, not fun but it needed doing:
The system is staying off over night so it will set properly
It's still filling up slowly, I doubt it will get done tonight but we'll see, even so it'll need more tomorrow once the vortexes get turned on:
