Things have gone pretty smoothly up until now. They should get interesting when I start with the settling tank, filter, and irrigation system to water the tropical heliconia garden surrounding the pond with the waste water. I've been looking at different designs for maintaining this pond/pool clean without it turning into my full time job. I'll be needing plenty advice from everyone on the forum. I'm not computer savvy enough to get the drawings onto this forum but I'll start soon with the pictures and throw around some ideas.
To give an idea of what I'm thinking, I have the 2 1/2 4 inch bottom drains emptying into a settling chamber. I was thinking about a homemade garbage basket/leaf catcher that I can empty out by hand. The water then passing on to a couple of rows of filter brushes, then through 3 different grains/two sheets each, of filter matting. The water is then pushed back to the pond by way of the filter bog.
I need advice on the best way to take this water out of the filter from the bottom drains and circulate it into my garden. I need a pump of some kind because gravity feed isn't an option. I wonder if clogging the watering pipes will be a problem?
