My father used to tell me that they would catch 60 pound flathead catfish in Missouri by using a similar technique. They would find these river edge caves in the Missouri river with their feet. Then they would block the outer opening and drill a hole down through the top. I'm sure success percentage varied depending on the blood moonshine level. I would think one would have to be pretty shnookerd to stick thier foot in a hole under muddy water where 60 pound catfish are lurking. My father told me to look up the word noodling and here what I came up with in wikipedia.

Noodling is a southern US practice of fishing for catfish using only bare hands. Many other names, such as catfisting, grabbling, graveling, hogging, dogging, gurgling, tickling and stumping, are used in different regions for the same activity. Noodling is currently legal in eleven states.[1].
The term "noodling", although today used primarily towards the capture of flathead catfish, can and has been applied to all hand fishing methods, regardless of the method or species of fish sought. Noodling as a term has also been applied to various unconventional methods of fishing, such as any which do not use bait, rod & reel, speargun, etc., but this usage is much less common.

hmmmm 60lbs+ or larger if you happen to hook one with your limb in water you can't see death by drowning because when they go down the fish is in control and they are so freaked that the fish wins

ask any martial artist about what happens when you get a persons limb under your control and they think they are in control, surest way to go down is for a persons over confidence to be their strength

i didn't know that the fish would hang on that tightly once it hooked up with a human sized meal. but i guess i can see that happening. creepy. ive always wanted to try it.

I've got quite the algae bloom. I'm not worried though. My plants are looking awsome. There is all kinds of new growth. The experimental plants that I took the dirt out of the roots are not only growing but thriving. The water is actually pretty. It's still very clean, I just need the filter to mature a little more.
Today I'm going to lower the filter skimmer. We put it in too high in relation to the water level. I'm only using about 20% of its capacity.
My irrigation system is working great. It empties from the bottom of the barrel filters. I forgot to put a check valve in the large falls though. I won't be able to clean the filter without all of the water running back into the pond via the skimmer.

I still can't seem to up load photos.

The good, the bad, and the ugly. I finally lowered the skimmer. I almost didn't wan to go home and see. When I got home I wanted to leave and come back when it was done. The pumps have been off for about 12 hours and the water now looks like hell. While they have the water level down they are also power washing the varnish that didn't dry right and turned white. Another of their mistakes that I'm paying for.

Keep at it tuggerd for all of us who can only dunk our heads in our tank in effect scaring the crap outta our fish and cracking heaters!!!
