New Tropical Pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There actually aren't many mosquito's here. A little nat comes out with the rainy season that is kind of pesty. You got to remember though that I'm from Minnesota. There is no place in the world with mosquitos like we have there.

I'm willing to bet Florida has Minnesota beat in mosquito populations ;)

Pond looks great!

Nice!!! This will be the blue print for my future project. You've set the bench mark Tuggerd!

Texas, Alaska, Minnesota, Louisiana & Florida all claim to have the most mosquitoes. Not really an honor if you ask me...

I have a joke for you guys. My pool is so green that my kids prefer swimming in the pond. They were actually trying to catch butterflys and the little one slipped in. Ya Right!
I added some more Microbe Lift just for the hell of it. Its not like I need it or anything. It contains some barely straw and other things that clouded the water even more.
My water is so green that I can't even see the rocks in my barrel filter.
On the brighter side, a water plant was flowering in my other pond. What a beautiful flower.

Oh by the way. My water level is holding steady. Yeh baby!!!!!

So is it an algae bloom? Are you treating it with anything other than "Microbe Lift"? Or you're just waiting for your UV to catch up?

I'll just let things run their course. The exact same thing happened with my other pond and now I don't even turn the uv light on. The water is crystal clear. I remember that I had fish in the other pond almost as soon as I put water in it. I assume that this time things should work a little faster because of the lighter waste load. We'll see.
