+1 on pics....

If you are sitting poolside checking out the fish, do it through a lens:D

JK, just jealous. My fish are entering hibernation and it sucks. No schooling for 5 months....

I think there are 3 oscars. One big one and two smaller ones.

The Heliconia's are really filling in now. That red one is incredible.

I've found that if the bottom is scrubbed really well the algae takes about 5 days to turn the bottom green. If we clean the bottom so it doesn't look green but don't scrub, the algae starts coming back the next day.

Lookin good Tuggard. How are your cichla temensis doing? Are they eventually going in the large pond? If so - they will grow huge. Personally - I would love to see a bunch of Cichla roaming that beast. Feeding them would bring a guaranteed smile on your face. Awesome pond!

Man am I enjoying this project. I'm sure sometimes I look like a dork just sitting there just staring.

I got a pretty cool shot of my Guapote and a new Oscar that I just put in the laguna.

The Orchids and the heliconia's continue flowering.

I had a little leak problem. We'll see if its fixed. The pool is still settling. Notice the crack.

Oh the Guapote looks great. Do you find you fish prefer the shallow area of the pool over deeper or makes no difference.

I ask as even in crystal clear deep canals its only in shallow areas I ever see cichlids and I noticed in your last Oscar pic they are in shallow area.

u should get more dithers it will make it so the others will feel safe and come out a lot more......

I was thinking same thing like platys, swordtails. Some fast breeding fish with nice color that his cichlids will also chase and eat.

I think because the water is so clear that when I come out above on to the rancho they scatter. Maybe if I start feeding them they'll come out more often.

I would love to put those temensis in there. We'll see how it goes. After about two days of not cleaning it I start seeing the fish poop strings floating around. Not real cool with the wife. I was thinking about not feeding them at all, but with that big oscar in there the smaller baby fish have disappeared pretty quickly. I guess my little mini-ecosystems is pretty one sided on the consumption side. Just imagine a temensis in there.

That is awesome! I like the way the bog looks. It would be awesome if when you are done (or close) to get an underwater camera and film all the fish.
needs more fish though.

Good job!
