Sounds like this stuff is going to fun to play with....
Be sure to put on your play clothes ;)
One drawback...it CAN be a big mess...and once it cures, it's there for ever...

To give you an idea about how good 5200 is...When I was still commercial fishing, we would use it on everything needed to be waterproof and stay put...I would get it on my fingers and wipe it off on my sweats...All through the season and all the machine washings and dryings, that fishing clothes go through, the 5200 smears would still be right there. Just like they were when I wiped off my fingers... ;)

Do be careful with acetone fumes... Ventilate well, for the fish and your sake.

Well home depot had the 3m so i got 3 tubes.. cut cut, , mount, ****, crap, uho, pound pound, tighten x44.

Put the window in today. Man I think next time I will just to this with a drill for the nuts and use another fish tank not in use.:nilly:

I am also glad I left the paper backing on. I didnt cut the pond liner until I have the window bolted in. Cut the the rubber and ALOT of the adhesive was on the backing (ya the window slide down:(). Its now finished in all its glory and the fish are enjoying their shallow tank. Sun or Mon fill up and test?.
And yes I know it isnt pretty, but I just wanted to mainly see if I could get it done so I know the do's and don't when I build a bigger tank this summer with a bigger window.

Well I got some on my floor, and a shirt went byby haha.

Crap a week, does that mean I have to wait until next saturday to fill it all the way up? They are not gonna like me!

Hey man its not bad! Honestly. Its much better than looking at your fish from the top all the time!

Cant wait to see the big tank when you do it!

says tack free in 48hrs, would it be safe to test fill then? Or would the water pressure press into the soft adhesive and cause a leak? Maybe not even full maybe half way over the window?

crap, they are in 59.8 gallons of water. 6x2 x 8" deep right now. Boy are they going to be MAD at me for a week if thats true.

Yup...that's why I suggested "fast cure" it is solid in 24-36 hrs...
Make sure everything is where you want it, because in a week it will be there for good...Thing about the slow cure, is it is still workable with acetone so you can clean up any boo boos you might have...

If you got the regular cure, give it a week it'll be all done even if it is underwater. The stuff will cure underwater, but the guys at 3M couldn't gaurentee it's non-toxicity unless it is cured...It would probably be fine in a couple of days, but that's entirely up to you...

We have put live crab on it in 2 days before during the season, and didn't have any dead loss from it...that's been my experience with it...
