Parachromis sp La Ceiba "Yellow Head"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Will pictures of these or an actual specimen be sent to an ichthyologist for positive identification? I want one of these really badly, but at the moment I just don't have to room for another aggressive, large fish.

I'd say rarer in the wild as looks like there won' be any more wild ones unless we can find a new population, and believe me we will look. Beani are common in their range, just no one goes there to collect very often. Ken

I wish like hell someone would go where the beani are!

Ken, who do you send fish to for genetic analysis?

Rusty has a guy, I'm not sure, I think at Michigan, I can ask Mitch if he can do it, but you have to have something to compare it to. Ken

If we compared it to the Honduran managuense, Rio Copan motaguense, a friedrichsthalii , and a loisellei from a different locale, wouldn't that be enough?

Airfare to Honduras about $800, One week of hotel, food, ect $1000, luck in finding them and actually bringing them back alive, Who knows. I went to Honduras 4 times before we found this fish, I have thousands invested. Babies are $5 each. :) Ken
