ok,can anyone id this fish?
i caught it years ago down in costa rica,in a river that was a 150 miles from the ocean.
they said that river had sailfish but dont think we got any of those.
i think all we caught was a few of these.

I was thinking of redfish (drum) too. The coloring is different and spot is missing. It is probably related or from being in fresh water.

nope...actually the tail spot is there. It is very faint but it is there. It is probably colorless from being in fresh water.

The rear dorsal is wrong Maybe a relative?

yup,the top rear fin isnt the same as any drum.

went to miami and caught all these on fathead minnows.

2nd to last pic you can see the hook.
i should be using a bronze hook cus they rust faster just havent switched it yet.
not sure what number tho.
no leader,was just free lining.
