I feed my red wolf carnivore pellets but I've never tried feeding them to my mala. They just seem too small for him to bother with. He loves cichlid pellets though
Ya I read those before. But still think it is a different fish. Maybe some years later
some expert claim them to be different again. If I am not wrong aimara when small do not have the spot.

It look more like aimara to me.
and this above is a sp. too bad I dun know jap. Should be interesting to know what they means.
To me even if I know by studying on the jaw will able to tell the different. But from my own study it is from the spot or the thick bar across the body.
Mine will not eat live fish. I keep a 4" male Convict with him and the first night I put the Convict in his tank he attacked the Convict hard. I thought it was going to die but the wolf left it alone after 2 strikes and it's healed up nicely. Now the wolf doesn't even pay attention to him.
I guess he would probably eat live if I didn't feed him every day but to be honest I don't mind that he will eat pellets as well as shrimp and other prepared foods.
I actually have a 120g 4x2x2 that I plan on keeping him in for pretty much life. Since he is so passive atm I plan on trying him with my red wolf fish and bichirs as well. I won't keep him like this permanently but I want to condense down from 3 tanks to 2 for a while. We'll see how that goes.
by the way, my wolf fish swallowed my 4" male convict twice, and it ate the female, i took it out from its mouth; unfortunattely, the male convict died still.

Haha so sorry, maybe not black enough. Why I say it a common is that of the middle lining it have. But the so call /// and \\\ pattern dun seem like a common wolf too. So there we have it sp. always think that sp. is a unsure name for a fish. forgotten the .cf means
