Nice fat mala!
Any fights between tankmates?
Very few fights, the mala and the pike tend to avoid one another with the wolf occasionally chasing the pike off when food is on offer. no injuries have resulted thus far (3 years roughly).
The apollo sharks just cruise the top and no one bothers them and the two polys stick with the wolf - she seems not to notice them/care.
That said the wolf, pike and apollo sharks all grew up together and i have tried adding other fish but the wolf hunts and kills them instantly. She recently ate a 4" royal pleco whole that I added thinking that it would be fine. I have now learnt my lesson.
The bichirs are the first new fish she has accepted and they are only a temporary addition to the tank.
I have found having two large pieces of drainpipe serving as caves for the pike and the wolf seperately has seriously reduced any terratorial disputes leading to aggression - unless one strays into the others territory - but that just has not happened since the first few months.
I no longer dare put my hand in the tank - its hard enough to watch out for the wolf then suddenly you realise the pike is waiting to ambush you!
p.s. why the hell is this thread not a sticky?! MODS - care to make it a sticky?
