what are you guys using for substrate??

I'm using Eco-complete, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it. I recently heard it was being discontinued anyways.

My first attempt with live plants, started it in a 29 gallon, ciclids in my bigger tanks would pick at the plants and up root them like mad.
