Why don't you breed them through a divider....and put a lid on the tank! :D
I've always used a divider, she likes to ram them when she's in a killing mood. Ken

Don't really undertsand your question, These are Parachromis, Amphilophus is a totally different fish, some of the earlier post people were speculating if they were born wild type and peeled later to yellow like an Amphilophus, mine were all born xanthic, no black pigment at all. An Amphilophus that peels from wild type barred to a lighter color at a later age is not a true xanthic. Ken

Very cool. I'll be interested to see what they look like as adults and how hardy they are. Very interested in seeing what the next generation from 2 xanthics looks like and what the ratio of xanthic fry turns out to be from there spawns.

I would think it would be 100%, just like when you bred any other xanthic fish to each other, gold severums throw 100% gold severums! Problem is most ot then went out two at a time, low odds for getting a pair, 3 people bought 4-5 fish, much better odds. Ken

From what I've read there is a Northern and Southern morph.

Northern: Highly speckeld w/smaller spots all over body.

Southern: Lightly speckled w/large rosettes/spots on body.

The shape of the fish may also differ - I've seen some males that are absolute brutes - very stocky and short-faced. And I'v seen some males like yours that is more streamlined.

I would hazard a guess at yours being Southern morph. More accurately, Central America.
Northern and southern What? north and south of a country's collection lake or what?, there are multiple places and lakes jaguars are collected from for the aquarium trade. i simply don't understand this. where did you hear or read of this?
