Yeah I know peathenster:D! I just thought it was funny that a bunch of poeple wouldn't believe me even though I had seen a pair with fry before. I agree that the female does not look as red, but I would think that would be the norm. She is still a lot more red then any gold severum female that I have ever seen.

I bet we still se posts with people claiming that they are sterile.

let em, I'll be laughing my ass off at em when I'm driving back cross the bridge from picking up some! :mr-t:

Is there any way to change the title of the thread? I should have properly titled it but I didn't know all the controversy and doubt that reds could breed and that there were even females..

I'll try to get the Mods to change it.

Well, as of this morning there are only 5 white eggs out of the whole spawn, a couple of which were from the get go. It looks like they are definitely fertile. They didn't lay them on the rock I put in there for them to lay on. They had to choose a place where I could not remove them. I'm worried about the snails & a few fish that can swim through the egg crate. Mom does seem to be quite a good parent. All Dad does is run off others, when he's on that side of the rock. LOL More updates to come.

Gald to here they are fertile. Get used to your severums being bad parents. They are notorious for it. They might figure it out after a few tries though.

Good luck with them. Let me know when you're ready to get rid of some.
