I don't know for sure. The guy I got them from, got them from a wholesaler at the same time so I can only assume so.
 
I've been waiting for this post. I too have four red severums that I 'm working with, and was just hoping that I to could get the same results. But after reading of all the controversy, I had my doubts. Now this post just added, just a little more hope to this cause. G/L and keep us posted!!!!!!!!!
 
Wow, I never heard this 'controversy' that they couldn't breed. I would think the fertility would be low, like it is with golds, since they seem to be a line bred line of another line bred line.

... unless they outbred golds to wild tapajos greens to get the extra red. That would give them better fertility than the golds. At least I hope they did that, rather than rotties and producing a hybrid ...

Thats what I meant by controversy, Not that they couldn't breed. But there fertility might be low for the reasons you so eloquently mention.:headbang2
 
hi guys i have a pair of severums that have just laid 3 batches of eggs today i would say at least 100. im hearing bad things regarding the male eating the eggs any suggestions to prevent this? should i divide my tank?
