my bad davo i didnt notice it in your post my first time through here...

anyone know anything as far as portugal goes...not really with restrictions but reptile importing(health clearance and all)

If it is wild caught then yes(most likely). Did you get it from a breeder? Im not sure on your state laws but it may be illegal all together, or not at all.
 
It varies on the law...

They may come to your house, confiscate all the animals you own and put you on probation not to own an animal for a few years or life. I have heard some pretty nasty things. Or they could just confiscate your turtle... depending on the laws.

Edit: I don't know about Texan laws, but just giving you what you might end up facing on one end of the extreme to the other.
