Here I'll start. has anyone ever seen an adipose fin grow boney fin rays like mine? He had fin and tail rot when I bought him, and now that it's healed he seems to be growing boney fin rays on top of his adipose fin which is supposed to be cartilage only. It really confuses me. If anyone has ever seen this before let me know. He didn't have it before the adipose fin rotted. here's some pics let me know what you think.

Also with these cats. They are brutes, and when they are on their nightly journey for food they tend to break and eat anything in the tank. Once they are over a foot long glass heaters in the tank are a bad idea.

I have several Monsters now including a RTC. I've actualy watched them shoving the heater around and never thought about it breaking... Duhhh lol
I think I'm moving my heater to the sump now!

In regards to electricity around water and shock hazard it is ALWAYS a good idea to have all your circuits running on a GFI (Ground Fault Interupt) outlet. These can be installed very easly and only cost around $10. An investment that could very well save your life!

will an 8'by2' 300 gallon tank work for a rtc? and what other fish could i house? i was planning on my siver aro, an ir shark, a ck, a lima, and a hi-fi banded shark. (Too much?)

umm yeh the less fish the better...plus all the fish must be SMALLER than the rtc...the 8 by 2 tank will not last for life but it could last for a couple of years if ure lucky...depends on the growth rate of ure RTC..they r very wide fish...

Everything but the RTC, sorry will be fine. RTC needs 1-2k IMO (I've seen 5' long ones...)

anything you house with an rtc better be larger than him especially that aro those are easy for a wide mouthed fish to swallow. the rtc i had was 18 months when his growth slowed and he was 2' at that point.
