Any reason why you might suspect that? Is it because they seem to have a hard time finding food?... Trust me when I tell you... they don't it's just that they need to "smell" it before it becomes interesting and since they are catfish... they are basically a swimming tongue so they might circle around it before deciding it's something they want ;)

Well he doesnt seem to see the food. I usually tap on the glass a little and he swims to the top and eats. The oscar is really responsive to food being dropped in and usually eats the majority before the rtc even realizes there is food. If there was food in the tank regardless if it is gone or not he will use his whiskers like mad to scour the tank. Maybe i just need to get some sinking food.

if they are slender enough to fit in his mouth then maybe 3-4" for his length. If they are as tall as they are long ie discuss then when his head is 3-4" wide, but he still might try before then and either get them stuck in his mouth or just pummle them to death. For the rtc's sake I wouldn't put anything that looks like he might concievably be able to fit into his mouth in the tank with him. It could get stuck and kill him. I've seen it many times on here before. Good luck.

125 is perfect for a lima. I've heard of them at 18", but normally a bit smaller
