Hi,

After a long and hard search I finally found a small TSN Yesterday 2", bought it for a fortune. So I put in in my 30 gallon tank with a 2.5" GT. This afternoon I got hom and my TSN is Dead. WHY?
Could it be possible that my GT killed it?

This is TERRIBLE:(:(:(:(:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::confused::confused:

Not knowing your acclimation methods, or tank params, or maintenance schedule, it's hard to say for sure. Was there any visible signs of attack on the very small tsn?

dont buy a 2'' fish man...buy them when they r like 5''++ cause they get exponentially more hardy....

can u keep several rtc together
ta rick
yes u can....as long as they r all similar sizes u shud not have a problem...plus the tank has to be hugeeeee for the future...u shud probably keep them seperated until they r about 2 feet though...cause wen they r older...theres a much smaller chance of cannibalism....

hey i was gonna make a pond for my RTC, but i was wondering if they could go in those big intec pools from walmart or could his fins cut it. I just thought it would be ultimately cheaper but i want to know he will be alright. i was thinking 1100 gallon pool.

yeh its a bit of a risk because their side spikes r really really sharp..an alternative wouild be blue fibreglass tanks...they r extremely hardy and last for a long long time...plus they r relatively cheap...

Hiya

We have a nitrate probelm...can anyone help? Our tank is 7ft by 2.5ft by 2ft and we have 3 filters which will turn over 900 ltrs. we have done 3 tank changes in the last 3 days and cleaned the filters out, we have only had our two
redtailed catfishes in for 2 weeks and nitrate is too high. We have coral sand on the base about 5mm deep. Does anyone know how we can bring the nitrate level down?
Also one of our
catfish has damaged its peptoral fin whereby the end part of the bone has separated from the fin by approx 2mm, we have put in antibacterial lotion to keep fungus at bay - will this heal?

yes it shud heal...especially if the catfish is at such a young age...as for ure nitrate problem, try removing all the sand from the bottom of the tank...substrates at the bottom are known to trap waste and food from going into the filter, hence posing a threat to the water quality in ther tank. all my ponds and tanks have always been bare bottom and ive never had a problem...
