Someone mind telling me which one is stronger glass, plexiglass, or acrylic?
Not the right thread for a question like that but plexiglass is acrylic (just a brandname for it) glass is more brittle and acrylic has more flexability but over all it main difference is weight and clairity. Personally I prefer the lighter, clearer Acrylic tanks but there is a whole debate about which is better.

Do a search in the DIY section and you'll see a bunch of threads regarding their characteristics

Is my RTC lazy or sick?

My catfish rarely ever moves and only eats every other day or so. I often think he's dead just because he's always in the same spot. I once thought he was dead as he hadn't moved in two days and when I gave him a poke, he just fell off the rock he was sitting on and laid there. He didnt move until he was actually in the net. Is he sick or just lazy?

Water parameters are all perfect.

What are the demensions of your tank? Sounds like it's (don't laugh) depressed, mine never stops moving... only stays still when his belly is REALLY FULL and thats for a short time as he'll digest a bit then he's off again!... miind you, Buster doesn't seem to be any ordinary RTC

He is about 3 inches right now. He's currently in a 60 gallon hexagon which I understand is the equivalent to about a 30 or 40 in regards to surface area however he's only in there as a temp solution until I get my 125 gallon growout which is a temp solution while my custom 1500 gallon is being built. It doesn't seem as though he'd be so cramped he has no room but you're probably right. I am moving in a month or so so I was going to wait until I did that to set up the 125 but I guess if he's depressed I'll have to do it now for him.

At 3" they usually spaz out when ever they are touched or even get close to them and they freak... other than that they would normally not do much unless you shut of the lights... they will cruise the tank and go glass surfing but thats usually about it all their energy goes towards growing... if yours is just sitting there then chances are either it's depressed in some way OR your water params aren't as good as you think they are...what are your readings? what tests are you doing?
