Im going to speak from experience and tell anyone whose curious, when they say that RTCs/TSNs/Hybrids grow quickly, THEY MEAN IT.

I got mines at a Petsupermarket a couple of months ago at two inches. I was honestly tired of seeing them sold there like cute little catfish for 20 bucks so I took him. Anyway, it's been two months and he's gone from 2 inches to 6 inches!

i have a juvenile one at the minute which is aprox 2 inches (called bruce), but i had one which was 3 foot 6 inches and 10 years old called luna she was the best fish i ever had and when she died (God bless her soul) i cried for weeks and im a bloke. they are the fish equivelent to a dog. when your sad she was there to make me smile coming up to see me and taking food out of my hand. there is nothing better than a health red tailed cat what a fish.

i went on holiday for 2 weeks and as she hated anything in her tank all the equipment was external, so external filter, heater, and a spray bar. she was in a 800 litre tank (now bruces) on her own because she used to just move everything about and keep knocking it into the glass. well she must of some how swam up and knocked the spray bar and it went in the water and there was not enough air in the tank for the 2 weeks. after joining this site i also found out she had a small case of gill curl which i'd never heard of before, but now will look out for like a hawk. this also explains that she had to breath in harder than normal rtc i have loads of pics of her so ill get some on for you.

Bought a catfish from LFS last week. Was 4" and sold for 39.95. Was told that it was a red headed catfish. From looking at pictures, I am pretty sure it is a RTC. All markings are identical with the exception that I don't see red on the tail yet. IS this normal for baby RTC's? (Silver Arrowana, Red Tailed Catfish, Black Ghost Knife Fish)
