Go to your local dog pound. I have seen mastiffs and bulldogs there all the time from people who can't keep them and don't bother trying to find them a home so they just dump them. BTW, some of the best dogs out there have been mutts. This dog comparison to stingrays is stupid!

i was going to get a ray paid 100 the next day thay said shipping will be 200 more. for a pup. got 2 arows at lfs. put them in empty 125gal theay started fighting after 20min non stop went back and bought the last 2 put them in now 4. no more fighting .
 
I saw an episode of river monsters where he used a ray as bait. I was like "WHAT!!!" it looked like a motoro. He had a bucket full! I might look into this as they could have been easy to aqcuire rays or something. Idk. Has anyone seen this episode? It's when he pulls in the grouper. Can anyone back me up on this?

agreed/ ill need to make a large 600 or so soon monsters for sure I have a swiming pool that nobodys swam in for years. monney pit to keep up for nada. dose chloriene lech into walls of pool

if its above ground just get new liner if its underground just scrub and clean real good
 
where does it say about the 90% death rate of egg laying fish in captivity ?

i think that might be your stumbling block. perhaps this is true in the wild but i doubt its true in captivity. if main comparison is based on false information then you need to reconsider the whole thing.

read the thread on feeding rays thats on here and you might start to see things from the other side. then factor in tank costs, space utility bills etc. over a year you would probably make more on a group of guppys in a small tank :D

even if you were to only get 10% of eggs to hatch from a fish that lays anything up to a thousand eggs every month its going to be very high compared to a ray that gestates for 90 days and is unlikley to be constantly pregnant or if it is then probably have a much shorter lifespan

They weren't motoro. They weren't even freshwater. You obviously haven't invested much time to learn about stingrays.....but rather invested your time in researching the fish you do keep aka cichlids. Also, sending you a PM with some opinions.
