Thanks everybody. If anybody even mentions that they are going to use a stock tank without a liner in it we can all just refer back to here. A mod should change the title to "Why galvanized stock tanks are bad" and make it a sticky somewhere.

I don't have a pic of the rtc. He died and got stuck against a 5,000 gph filter so it kinda mutilated him. It just wouldn't be a pretty picture.

Wow, that is a painful way to learn a chemistry lesson. Looked like the tank was pretty heavily stocked. Perhaps this reduction in biomass will help the over all health of all the fish that remain. (Looking for a bright side here.)

The stock didn't matter, I have 2 1,000 gallon pools and a pond to put them in.

rough lesson to learn but i'm glad you shared it so others don't have to repeat it. it takes a big man to admit his mistakes out here in the open, most would've just disappeared.

Thanks. I certainly don't mind admitting Im wrong, but id rather admit to something like a restaurant being terrible, or a movie not being as good as I said it was. I wish I could've just avoided this situation all together. My tank looks much emptier now.
