We had to install a concrete curb around the pond and a chainlink/turkey wire fence all around. To her credit, she never tried leaving her pond. In fact, the only time she ventured up the 30 foot embankment was whenever we showed up carrying a white bag. That meant she was going to get treats.

That's what I would have thought because I remembered seeing somewhere a video of a gator climbing a chain link fence and it falling flat on it's face after it reached the top. If only alligators weren't illegal and I could figure out how a greenhouse type of structure over an existing pond I'd have a gator. Oh well it's just a pipe dream.

Would the gator hole work in the winter months when it can get down to -30 Fahrenheit? I know they work in Florida. Or I could just find a hot spring property and not worry about all the other things.

-30 is too cold. It gets down to the teens here and ruby tolerates it by sleeping in a tunnel she dug out of the bank below the waterline. The water and ground temp keep her napping happily until the temps come back up.

The result of 24 hours in our marinade and 16 hours of slow cooking. This is 6 1/2 pounds of Peach-BBQ Teriyaki pulled pork. It fell into a dozen pieces just trying to remove it from the cooker. Next, bring on the toasted kaiser rolls and cole slaw!
