XXXL Clown Loaches

i find it hard to believe that all the baby clown loaches are wild caught . every lfs around here (and theres tons) has a tank full of little clown loaches most of the time . they're cheap too, 3 or 4 bux each . and the asian fish breeders are pretty good with artificial insemination . if they're really out there catching that many clown loaches , then wow !!! i know they USED to be all wild caught , but with how many there are available now , just hard to believe ...
 
Honestly I do too (find it hard to believe) but I am sure it would be widely known if someone cracked the code... So until it's proven otherwise I'll keep assuming all are wild caught.

I think they just breed like Sunfish in the wild hence the population can keep up with the demand from us hobbyist.
 
i would love to find out the real scoop on where the army of loaches comes from . don't they have hormones for this stuff now ? i've seen videos on how they breed the koi , its all "artificial" .

I wish I had a loach big enough to post on thi monster CL thread!!!' but I'll only tickle you with my 6incher...

I have read online that they can live for up to 50 years. Can anyone verify that for me? If so, then there must be some larger than the 15 y/o ones we're seeing!
