JK we need updates on yours.
The first tank I showed in post one (10 gallon) was given to my younger son when we moved into a new place. It house a betta and a few snails with only plant filtration. The Axoltl was given to my oldest son and was upgraded to a 45 gallon. That tank ran a Eheim 2211 with no bio media just mechanical. The plants took that tank over and had to be trimmed ofter because he was running out of room in the tank. I broke down both setups in August and game them along with most of the plants to a friend.

I took a few cutting earlier in the summer and moved those into the garage for the ray tanks. They have exploded in growth. Obviously I can't do plant only filtration on those tanks but plan to build a much more intensive external planted sump in the very near future.

Took a piece of hibiscus and snapped it off and plopped it in the tank a month or so back. Apparently it likes the water because it produced a bud then fowered...... Waiting on roots to shoot out still, I think I see a 1cm shoot comming out.

What you have is a planarian going. Three tanks of mine are planarians 10 never ever do water changes with light bio-load just move water and when the sponges get clogged that protect the motor I squeeze them out. I add plant fertilized 1 time per month and keep latorite to keep PH up. 12 gallon fluval chi same story. My 125 has too big of a bio-load so I have to do water changes but it is beautiful with large plants growing out the top. In the water are fancy show goldfish dojos and Barbatus, all cool water, that eat everything except the roots of the plants hanging from the sides of the tank.

Just checked my nitrates on the 240 with 18" koi, catfish is slightly bigger, 3 other catfish in the 6" range, 4" koi 4.5" common goldfish and 4" shubunkin. 10ppm:).

The tank is a 4x4 and id like to extend it to a 6x4, then I could add more plants!
