as much as I hate to do it, the great looking filamentosa barbs are going back to the LFS 
for the last little while I have been trying to see why my tinfoils have chewed up dorsal fins (but no other fins) and today I saw why.
its the nippy nasty (but great looking) filaments...
they are nipping the dorsals of the tinfoils. saw it twice today within a 5 minutes span..
if their dorsals are constantly being chewed upon as they grow, they will never heal properly and will probably not grow properly..
since the adult tinfoils are going to be the showcase of the tank, I need to keep them in top condition..
no wood to injure on
no fish to chew up fins...
I just have to figure out what I can put in with the 5 tinfoils that will be aggressive at getting food but will not nip them at all...

given that these fish still have a long way to go, they should heal up to normal as the fish grows.
but only if the nipping stops..which means I really don't have a choice but to rehome the filaments.
I am surprised that they are nipping.
a group of 5 should have been enough in a tank this size to nip each other only if anything, not other fish...

they are not big yet. only about 3 inches.
but they were 0.5" three months ago:
they grow very fast and should put on about an inch of body length per month.
