yea i hear ya. I miss seeing pics of your redhooks. I would have totally bought those filament barbs from you, lol. they were gooooorgeous! Good job catchign them all, I know what a pain that can be!
 
yeah, when I took them into the LFS they had a few adults there that although not as colourful as my fish, they had the full filaments from the dorsals and they looked great.

one day I think I would like to setup something like a 65g with 8 filaments by themselves and just let them grow all the way up. it would look great..

1. will not get too big - 5 adult tinfoils are going to take up the majority of the room in the tank. I am expecting an adult size of 12 to 14".

2. eats aggressively so as not to starve.

hmmm.... here are some ideas that you may like..
Will get to be 13'' max and eat fast...
- Oscar
- Frontosas (need to be in a group though)
- Giant Gourami
- Thin bar dats.... my guys are faster than my tilpia and frontosas..
Not aggressive....
- Chocolate Cichlids
- Geophagus Jurupari
- Geophagus Surinemis (spelling, pretty geos)
- Uaru
- Fire eel (may have to be handfed)

Can't think of any more.

thanks for the ideas. I have had a giant gourami before and it reached 20", so I know that one is out...I will have to see what cichlids might be available..but I am in no rush now to add to the tank..

at some point, when it has outgrown the 20g long tank, the super red severum will be going in , I know that much..
 
You definately have some sort of mildly cursed tank. Get in an exorcist?

Seriously though, get those barbs huge! I love tinfoils, and I would have some if I wasn't keeping clowns; as they are too greedy.

hey volt, you inspired me to buy a red tail tinfoil! So I bought a 6''er.
