I hate to say it but I don't really have any local friends that are in the hobby. If I had an emergency I could call some people from the reef club that I am an officer in but I wouldn't want to trouble them for routine mainenance. Hopefully I will be able to get around well enough to do most things myself in a couple of weeks.

I have the tank in pretty good shape so I shouldn't really have to do much besides feed the beasts, do some water changes, and sacrifice a virgin.

I'm just going to try to not spend a whole lot of money on the tank while I am recovering. For some reason when I get board I have a tendency to buy things. Right now I am considering an aquacontroller jr, an MR1 Monster Media Reactor, and a few other goodies. After my last surgery I ordered a 300 gallon tank. :)
Sorry to hear about the pain, But at least you got something sweet to look at that is proven to at least lower blood pressure :)

Gotta try different meds. 5 years ago I had pnemothorax (collapsed lung) that required surgery. When I woke up from surgery was when I found out morphine didn't effect me. So did alot of other drugs. I was in so much pain that had a gun been beside me, there was no doubt in my mind I would of ended it all right there. They ended up putting me back to sleep and running tests on me. Eventually the drug of choice for me was demerol.

Good Luck man. I totally feel for ya. Just stay positive, it WILL get better!

10 percent of white males are not affected by morphine. Demerol is a good second choice. propoxyphene being a close third. Maybe oxycodone

I was part of that 10% then. Pure misery man. Oxycodone was the drug of choice at home. Perc's and Vico's destroyed my stomach. Then I got hooked on that crap. Now THAT was misery withdrawling from!

Just hobbled (on crutches) in to look at the tank. A breaker flipped due to my mom leaving the bathroom heater on today by accident. I didn't know it but the power had been off on both the 210 and the 300 since around 11:00 am. I'm really hoping that I didn't lose all of my beneficial bacteria. I'm in no way able to do daily water changes right now.

Wow, it had to take some time to read this whole thread. You certainly deserve a cookie or something! ;)

Unfortunately the tank is not clearing up like I had hoped it would. I'm not sure if it is just a bacteria bloom or if it is still dust from the crushed coral. Either way I am tired of it and I want the tank cleared up. I am going to order a NextReef MR1 Monster media reactor. I am also ordering a ViaAqua 1300, two liters of matrix carbon and two liters of purigen. I know it won't completely fill the reactor but I think it should be enough to clear up my 300. At least I hope it will be.

I'm really hoping this will finish me up as far as filtration on this tank.

I think the derail can go on for one more post. I just want to say that I think it is awesome that you two were able to get off of that stuff. I live in WV where Oxycotton and meth run rampant. I have been very lucky and have never gotten involved with either one of those, or any other drug for that matter (besides a joint or a beer here and there). It is a huge accomplishment to clean yourself up.

Okay now the derail is over. :D
