I thought about getting the busa since it and the zx14 are equivalent. I went with the 14 for four reasons, first it is much more comfortable. Second, insurance is 1/3 as much as for the busa. I pay $440 a year for full coverage. Insurance on the busa would be over $1100 a year. Actually, insurance on any GSX-R is absolutely ridiculous. Way too many squids ride them and end up in a casket. Third, everywhere you look you see a squid on a busa or another gsxr. Forth, most people out there have no idea what the zx14 is capable of, I like that.

Don't get me wrong, I believe that the busa and other gsxr's are amazing machines. There is no arguing the fact that most newbies go straight for a gixxer though and way too many of them end up going down on the ride home. Just about every time you hear about someone dieing on a crotch rocket down here they were riding a gixxer. It has nothing to do with the bike, they are awesome.

With that said, the new R1 is very, very tempting! :WHOA:
I hear you on that. It is the same around here when I rode the street, now I am a track junkie and I get my fix there. The Kawis are some nice bikes, especially since a few years back, they had some help from Suzuki.

The Boosta (BUSA) is a nice bike, I haven't had the chance to ride the 14, since I don't like riding the streets anymore, too many squids, I can just imagine the grunt and power.

I had a chance last year to endurance a 636 and that thing was a hell of lot more comfortable than my gixxer, and the midrange was crazy. Kawi has mad a good turn in bringing their bikes back up to speed.

I still want to ride the R1, I rode the first R1 and never got back on one, because I hated the riding position. It is worse than the gixxer :nilly:

ENOUGH ON BIKES....BACK TO THE TANK

In much, much pain right now. Knee surgery is complete but the pain is much worse than last time. Had bad convulsions / seizures in my legs. It's going to be a while until I get to work on the tank.

They have given me all kinds of pain killers. Don't seem to be working. I overheard one of the nurses tell a doctor that she had never seen anyone in so much pain after arthroscopic surgery. They can't even get me out of bed. Actually, I can't even set up. :(

I'm hoping the same thing and I am more than a little concerned about it. Only time will tell though.

Anyway, to get this thread back on track a little here is a picture I took Tuesday. The fish did a little re-arranging. I didn't get a chance to look at the tank yesterday evening to see how things looked, hopefully the driftwood is still standing. I am not able to make any changes or do any work to it for a few days so any changes they make are going to stay for a while. Hopefully I can walk my wife through a water change this weekend.

Please excuse the poor quality picture. The dust is still settling from the crushed coral.

Man, I'm sure you must have a local friend that would be willing to come over and do some tank maintenance for you while you are out of commission.
I hate to say it but I don't really have any local friends that are in the hobby. If I had an emergency I could call some people from the reef club that I am an officer in but I wouldn't want to trouble them for routine mainenance. Hopefully I will be able to get around well enough to do most things myself in a couple of weeks.

I have the tank in pretty good shape so I shouldn't really have to do much besides feed the beasts, do some water changes, and sacrifice a virgin.

I'm just going to try to not spend a whole lot of money on the tank while I am recovering. For some reason when I get board I have a tendency to buy things. Right now I am considering an aquacontroller jr, an MR1 Monster Media Reactor, and a few other goodies. After my last surgery I ordered a 300 gallon tank. :)
