I can try. Basicly all I did was take a jigsaw and cut about an inch off. I wish I would have cut a little less but since my fish are mostly pretty big it isn't a big deal. I also wish I would have cut every other space out. Since you are keeping smaller fish I would recommend taking a little extra time and cut out half (longwise) of every tooth and see how that works. It should provide plenty of flow but still keep your fish from going into the overflow box.

I wish you didn't have this problem but at the same time I'm glad to hear it isn't just me. I just don't understand how those little slits could possibly allow enough water to get through to the overflow.

Make sure you cut slow. If you cut fast it just melts back together.

I knew it was going to be a problem. My bro n law has a 135 from them...same exact overflow teeth and spacing and his keeps up but only has a velocity t4 pump.

So does the water go over the entire top of the overflow cover ratherr than through all the teeth? Does it make a lot of water noise. Right now with one pump running its dead silent in the canopy.

Before I chopped mine up a little water may have gone through the slits but not enough to matter. The majority went right over and came very close to actually causing my tank to overflow.

Now mine really does not have any slits to speak of so all of the water goes over it. I added some eggcrate to the top to attempt to keep fish from going over it. I had a couple of the feeders that I used to cycle the tank with and a trimac go over it so far but only because it doesn't fit perfect. Mine is not making any noise that I notice. I am using a diy durso standpipe though.

Took a few more pictures. I really wish my camera would show how much the tank has already cleared up. I could buy a better one but I would rather spend them money on other toys. :)
