Yeah, that's what I did. Had to use a dremel on a few spots because it was either fiberglass or resin...not sure which. Either way, a razor blade wouldn't touch it, & a dremel even struggled to get through it. I didn't cut mine in a straight line though. I followed the stump & cut between it & the rock/mud wall hopng to blend the seem better.
JK47 mentioned that same thing about his other backgrounds... he sanded his 300 gallon background down and some areas were like concrete. That's a good idea about cutting around the stump, maybe I would do that if I were to do it again. Looks good so far and I'm pretty sure when I get some algae growth that you won't be able to see anything at all seam wise.

So, the silicone on the seams is dry. Gonna get this biznitch fully siliconed tomorrow, then gonna set the tank back up this weekend when it cures. I'll have some more pics tomorrow.

3D BACKGROUND IS INSTALLED! Tank is in upright position, everything needs to dry for a while, then time for water. Pictures to follow.... I have to drive JK47 home first! :)

I'm pretty tired, and don't feel like typing up a whole thing tonight about all the stuff we got done, so I'll just give everyone the money shot they've been waiting for...

More tomorrow.

ADVICE ON AQUASCAPING IS WELCOME! I HAVE BOTTOM DWELLING FISH THAT NEED PLACES TO HIDE, BUT DON'T WANT TO CLUTTER UP MY BEAUTIFUL TANK WITH PVC PIPE.

Looks good J.. Those seams are the best I've done yet. Waaay better than my tanks I'm jealous, you can't even see them. Once that silicone cures and you get the foam carved it will look like a whole new tank.

ACWO:

Are those bar towels I see in the bottom right side of your tank? What are there purpose for being there? Soaking up excess moisture from the sand? Curiousity got the better of Garfield, today.

No PVC pipe, eh? Good idea. I never did like them much myself. As far as aquascaping I think I'll have to send you a "Paint" picture with some ideas, similar to JK47's but instead of a front view, it will be a top view. A type of graphic issustration will speaks volumes, I think, so . . . does that sound good to you? I hope it does as I have a few in mind, but will not bog your mind with all of them at once. Also ,do you want to use a CO2 system in this tank or not?
