Sorry to hear about your problems mike,im not looking forward to doing mine because of satans and your problems, bit worried really.

As for our tank,we got a letter saying we should know by the 2nd of july, kepping everything crossed that its ok.

Thanks for the comments guys,i was going for a 5x2x2 sump but id have to buy that and also get rid of my 6x2x2 anyway so why not use for the sump, saves me some money anyway also sorted the bloke to fibreglass the tank once ive built the frame etc,it will cost £450 which im happy to pay, just got to get a rough price for the glass and i know what im dealing with, dont know if you saw the practical fishkeeping issue with a chap called jack who had half his basement as a tank and got in with his snorkel gear on,well kevin is the chap who did that,if not he has done all the fibreglass for wharf aquatics so he should be good.

Sorry for the derail by the way, keep your chin up.

I wouldn't worry steve, you won't have the same problems mate, especially because you're using a professional to tank it out, instead of me attempting something i have never done before! learning curve is all that comes to mind. soon as i hear about the glass i'll let you know.

right then, off we go to get a bucket of epoxy.....................

where do i sign?! yep please, love to have him, hope you're not in a mad mad rush to move him on, i have to re-home my jardini :( before i could take the jaguar, i'm gonna post him in the aro section and on aquaristclassfieds, bit of luck some one is after one, i don't want anything for it either, just a big tank. fancy a swap?

Pond liner cound be the final straw, board the window over and look from above! always an option

shall i pm you my number or give me yours and i'll give you a bell about the jag?

oh, got the oak trimmed up and in the water-less tank :grinno:
Lol, whilst I would have loved a Jardini not long ago, i'm not getting anymore fish at all for a while until i've moved.

No hurry on the Jag, as and when you can. I'll let you know what other fish are going to be going once I've sat and worked it out with what i've got left.

This project is awesome since i live in the Netherlands i always though it was too cold to try building a fishtank in an outhouse but it seems very valid.
I did briefly look at your floor heating is that some form of elektricity heating? won't that be extreme expensive on your energy bill.
That is the last bit that's holding me back from doing the same.

cool, thanks for holding onto him, would it be possible to wait until i get the big tank up and running? if not don't worry mate.

I guess the attachments are working again, seemed to work ok this morning, glad it did :)

So, if its open season on the innuendos, i'm game baby! let the battle commence and the dirtiest man win :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Hi WimHam.

to be honest, i have insulated the build pretty well including the roof space.
the under floor heating is just a normal domestic kit, i use them at work in bathrooms and kitchens, they do cost a bit to run obviously but not loads, look up 'warm up' under floorheating online, you may be able to find the power usage. its a good system and very reliable, the thermostat is fully programmable so you have a broad range of options. its only really there to partially heat the room (i will install another small wall mounted heater with a thermostat) and heat the tank a bit from below,i'm also gonna heat the tank.

hope this helps mate. build your tank!! :grinno:
